What makes QME transcription different?

A QME report is a legal document inside a workers' compensation claim. Impairment percentages, apportionment percentages, dates of injury and the exact phrasing of causation opinions are all read closely by attorneys and adjusters, so the transcription has to be literal rather than tidied up.

Typists working on QME files are trained on the report structure and vocabulary that California's system uses, including the PR-4 format and permanent and stationary reporting.

Who needs QME transcription?

Evaluators carrying a panel QME caseload alongside clinical practice, and offices where report deadlines are the constraint on how many evaluations can be scheduled each week.

What does the workflow look like?

You dictate as you normally would and send the audio through our encrypted upload. A transcriptionist trained on that report family types the first draft, a separate reviewer performs quality assurance against your template, and the finished document comes back ready for your review and signature.

How is impairment and apportionment language reviewed?

QA specifically re-checks numerical data: impairment percentages, apportionment splits, range-of-motion measurements, dates and body-part references. Percentages that do not reconcile within the dictation are flagged for the evaluator rather than corrected silently.

How is file handling secured?

Audio and finished reports are transferred and stored encrypted with an audit trail of every file. Signed NDAs cover the people who handle your dictation, and BAAs are available on request before the first file changes hands. We ask that protected health information is never sent through the public quote form — use the upload instead.

Do you handle QME work outside California?
